Privacy policy.

Study Break Planner does not collect, transmit, share, or sell your study data. This policy also explains the limited information involved when you contact EXAMMARK LTD or visit this static website.

The short version: no account, no advertising, no analytics, and no internet permission in Study Break Planner. Your study records remain on your device.

1. Who we are

EXAMMARK LTD is the publisher of Study Break Planner and the operator of this website. Where we process personal information sent to us directly, EXAMMARK LTD is the data controller.

Company: EXAMMARK LTD
Company number: 17193698
Registered office: Floor 4 – Franciscan House, 51 Princes Street, Ipswich, England, IP1 1UR

2. Study Break Planner

Information stored on your device

The app stores study plans, session history, subjects, topics, goals, focus reflections, reminder preferences, and other settings in Android private app storage. It uses this information only to provide its timer, planning, history, and progress features.

The app has no account system, advertising, analytics, or internet permission. EXAMMARK LTD does not receive a copy of this on-device information.

Notifications and alarms

If you allow notifications, the app creates local notifications when a focus or break block ends and for an optional daily reminder. It uses Android's exact-alarm capability because accurate timer completion is a core feature. Notification content and alarm data are not sent to EXAMMARK LTD or any third party.

Backups and device transfer

Cloud backup is disabled. During Android's direct device-to-device setup flow, Android may copy the local database and settings directly to a new device. The app does not receive, upload, or control that transfer.

Security and retention

App data is stored in Android private app storage, which ordinary apps cannot read. Local records remain until you delete individual records, use Reset progress, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.

Deleting app data

Reset progress in Settings removes session history and remembered subjects while keeping your plans and settings. Individual plans and history entries can be deleted in the app. Clearing Android app storage or uninstalling the app removes everything remaining on that device. Because EXAMMARK LTD keeps no server-side copy, there is no separate online account to delete. See our data deletion guide.

3. This website

This website does not set cookies, use browser storage, run analytics, display advertising, create user profiles, or include a server-side contact form. The light/dark theme control applies only to the current page session and is not saved.

If this static website is hosted by a third-party infrastructure provider, that provider may process technical request data such as your IP address, browser details, requested page, and time of access to deliver the site, maintain security, and diagnose faults. The exact handling depends on the hosting arrangement in use. EXAMMARK LTD does not use site code to combine this data into advertising or behavioural profiles.

Links to other websites, such as Companies House, take you to services with their own privacy practices.

4. When you contact us

If you email or telephone us, we may receive your name, contact details, the content of your message, and any technical information you choose to include. The contact form on this website prepares a message in your email application; it does not transmit the fields to this website.

We use correspondence to respond to your request, provide support, protect our services, and meet legal obligations. Depending on the context, our lawful basis is usually our legitimate interests in communicating with users and operating our business, taking steps at your request before a contract, or complying with a legal obligation.

We keep correspondence only for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, support history, dispute handling, security, or legal record-keeping. We do not sell contact information.

5. Sharing and international transfers

We may use service providers that support ordinary business communications or website hosting. They process information only for the relevant service and subject to their applicable terms. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect legal rights, or in connection with a lawful business reorganisation.

If a provider processes personal data outside the United Kingdom, we will rely on an appropriate legal transfer mechanism where UK data protection law requires one.

6. Children

Study Break Planner does not collect or transmit personal information from any user, including children. If a child contacts EXAMMARK LTD directly, we will use only the information needed to respond appropriately and will avoid retaining it unnecessarily.

7. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to processing, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. These rights apply to information EXAMMARK LTD actually holds; the company cannot access study records stored only on your device.

You can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you believe your personal data has been handled improperly. We would appreciate the opportunity to address your concern first.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our products, website, legal obligations, or company practices change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected in the published text.
